India condemns US Congress member Ilhan Omar to visit PoK

The US has made its stand clear regarding the visit of US MP Ilhan Omar to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s counselor Derek Cholet said this is an unofficial and personal visit. It has nothing to do with America or its policies.

Earlier, India had condemned the US MP’s visit to PoK. Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi had said on Thursday that he had violated the sovereignty of the country by visiting the area. It shows the narrow-minded politics of Omar.

Democrat MP Ilhan Omar is on a 4-day tour of Pakistan from April 20. During this, Omar has also met Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif and former PM Imran Khan. She is the first US lawmaker to visit Pakistan after Imran Khan stepped down as PM.

Bagchi said- We have seen that US Representative Ilhan Omar has visited a part of Jammu and Kashmir, which is currently illegally occupied by Pakistan. If such politicians do narrow-minded politics in their country then it is fine, but they have no right to violate our territorial integrity and sovereignty. This visit is disgusting.

Omar also discussed the Kashmir issue with PM Shahbaz. According to the report of news agency PTI, Shahbaz said that he raised the issue of Kashmir with the 39-year-old MP, known for his anti-India stance, and insisted on a peaceful resolution of Jammu and Kashmir.

Omar’s visit is being seen as an attempt to restart US-Pakistan relations. Let us inform you that former PM Imran Khan has accused the opposition of conspiring with America.

American Muslim lawmaker Ilhan Omar recently called the government led by PM Narendra Modi an anti-Muslim minority. Ilhan has also targeted the administration of US President Joe Biden, saying why is it supporting the Indian government. He has also been at loggerheads with former US President Donald Trump on Twitter.

Ilhan Omar, 39, is a Somalian-American politician who has been elected to the House of Representatives from Minnesota in 2019. She is one of the first two Muslim women lawmakers to reach the US Parliament. She is also the first Somalian-American citizen to enter the US Parliament. Originally she has also been a citizen of Africa.
