Princess Kate took to Instagram on Friday, June 14, to provide her followers with a personal health update. Accompanied by a radiant portrait of herself resting against a tree, the 42-year-old royal candidly discussed her experience undergoing chemotherapy. She expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support she and her husband, Prince William, have received from the public during this challenging time.
“I have been deeply moved by the outpouring of support and encouragement in recent months,” Kate expressed. “It has truly meant the world to William and me, providing much-needed strength during the tougher moments.” The Princess acknowledged her progress, noting that while she is advancing positively, the journey involves both good and challenging days, a reality familiar to anyone undergoing chemotherapy.
“On those difficult days, you feel fatigue and weakness, and you have to prioritize resting,” Kate observed. “But on the better days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.” Regarding the duration of her chemotherapy, the royal mentioned that it is currently ongoing and will continue for several more months.
“On the days when I have enough energy, it brings me joy to participate in school activities, dedicate personal time to activities that uplift me, and begin some work from home,” she shared. Kate then mentioned her upcoming public appearance this weekend at the Trooping the Colour, also known as the “King’s Birthday Parade,” expressing her anticipation of attending the event with her family. She expressed her desire to participate in several public engagements over the summer while acknowledging that she is still navigating her health challenges.
“I am learning the importance of patience, especially in the face of uncertainty,” she concluded. “Taking each day as it unfolds, listening to my body, and granting myself the necessary time to heal. Thank you sincerely for your ongoing understanding, and to all those who have courageously shared their own stories with me.” Less than three months ago, Kate, who is mother to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis with William, publicly revealed her cancer diagnosis in a video message. She has chosen not to disclose the specific type of cancer she is battling.
