Elon Musk announces Twitter Blue subscribers can now upload videos up to 2 hours

Elon Musk took to Twitter on Thursday night to announce that Twitter Blue subscribers now have the ability to upload videos of extended duration, up to two hours or 8 GB. In his tweet, he mentioned that this feature is specifically available for Twitter Blue Verified subscribers.

Non-Twitter Blue subscribers have a limited video upload duration of up to 140 seconds.

On April 1, Elon Musk introduced a subscription for the Twitter Blue badge, which was previously provided free of charge. It has now transitioned into a paid service, offering the sought-after and currently controversial blue tick mark that signifies authenticity. The subscription is priced at $8 per month or $84 per year.

Subscribers of Twitter Blue enjoy several benefits such as the ability to edit their tweets up to five times within a 30-minute window after posting. They can also share longer videos, experience a 50 percent reduction in advertisements, and gain early access to new features. Additionally, their posts receive prioritized visibility by the platform.

To access Twitter Blue, users with accounts older than 90 days can simply click on their profile picture located at the top left, in accordance with the platform’s policies.

On May 12, Elon Musk announced that Linda Yaccarino, the former advertising chief of NBCUniversal, would be taking on the role of Twitter CEO. Musk stated that Yaccarino’s main focus would be on business operations, while he himself would concentrate on product design and new technology. Musk expressed his excitement about Yaccarino’s appointment and welcomed her to the position via a tweet, saying, “I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter! @LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.”
