More than 500 million Facebook user’s data leaked online, claims in this report

A researcher from Ukraine said in December 2019 that the information of 26.7 million Facebook users is present on the Internet. However, it is not yet clear whether the information given by ‘Business Insider’ is related to the data received in December 2019.

New York: A website of hackers has information of more than 500 million Facebook users (users). Although this information and data seems to be several years old. However the situation may be, but this news and huge figures like 50 crores have raised the concern of netizens who are active on the Internet and social media once again. Actually, this data raises questions about the security of detailed information obtained by Facebook and other social media sites.

The information about the availability of data was given by the ‘Business Insider’ website. According to this website, phone numbers, Facebook IDs, full names, locations, dates of birth and email addresses of people from 106 countries are available online. Questions have been arising on Facebook for many years about the safety of people’s information.

On the other hand, Alon Gall, chief technical officer of Hudson Rock cybercrime intelligence firm, said on Saturday, “533,000,000 Facebook records were leaked for free.”

In 2018, the social media company stopped the facility to search user accounts through phone number after the revelation that political company ‘Cambridge Analytica’ obtained the information has taken of eighty seven million Facebook users without their knowledge or consent.

Facebook cleaning

Significantly, a safety researcher from Ukraine said in December 2019 that the information of 267 million Facebook users is available on the Internet. It is not clear whether the business insider has informed about the availability of the data, it is related to the data received in December 2019. Facebook said in a statement, ‘This is old data, information of which was given in 2019. We solved this problem in August 2019 itself.
