WHO chief congrats PM Narendra Modi to achieve the 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine target

WHO Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus Congratulates India: According to official sources, more than 75 percent of India’s eligible adult population has received at least one dose of the vaccine and about 31 percent of the population has received both doses of the vaccine.

World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has congratulated the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi), scientists, after the number of doses given so far in India crossed 100 crores. Congratulating the health workers and Indian citizens for being successfully provided with protective cover without any discrimination.

Significantly, it took 279 days for India to reach the milestone of 100 crore corona vaccination figures in the country. Meanwhile, the Director-General of WHO wrote in a tweet, ‘Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, scientists, health workers and people of India for their efforts to protect vulnerable populations from Kovid-19 and achieve the goals of equitable distribution of vaccines.’

Congratulating the country on achieving this success of vaccination, Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director, South-East Asia, WHO said, “Many congratulations to India for having administered one billion doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines. Achieving this extraordinary goal in such a short span of time would not have been possible without strong leadership, health workers, the frontline workforce, and dedicated efforts of the public.

According to official sources, more than 75 percent of India’s eligible adult population has received at least one dose of the vaccine and about 31 percent of the population has received both doses.
