Amazon unveiled miniTV in India: everyone should know about video streaming service

Amazon has launched a new video streaming service for its users in India within its shopping app. The new in-app service called MiniTV is the first of its kind worldwide by Amazon.

Amazon MiniTV is essentially an ad-based video streaming service currently available only to Amazon app users in India. While announcing the feature last week, the company said that mini TV will include web series, comedy shows to food, beauty, fashion content, and more.

So for those who want to use the latest video streaming service, here are some points to keep in mind –

Since the streaming service is integrated within the app, Mini TV will make the Amazon India Shopping app a single destination for customers wishing to shop for products, pay or watch free entertainment videos.

All users have to do is open their Amazon India app and click on the Mini TV section to watch free video content. It will largely function like a streaming service offered through in-app portals like MyJio and Flipkart Apps.

MiniTV is Amazon’s second video entertainment offering. The first Prime video remains which require a paid subscription to work. Amazon has been pushing a lot of content on Prime Video lately.

Amazon’s mini TVs will feature content produced by TVF, Pocket Aces, and other production heads. In addition, it will provide comedian content including Ashish Chanchalani, Amit Bhadana, Round 2 Hell, Harsh Beniwal, Shruti Arjun Anand, Elvish Yadav, Prajakta Koli, Swagger Sharma, Akash Gupta, and Nishant Tanwar.

Other content lineups include videos from beauty experts such as Sejal Kumar, Malvika Sitlani, Jovita George, Prerna Chhabra and Shivshakti. The food will be covered in the video by Kabita’s Kitchen, Cook with Nisha and Goble.

MiniTV is currently available only on the Android app of Amazon India. Support for iOS and mobile web will be released in the coming months. However, the company has not yet shared any roadmap. MiniTV will continue to add more new and exclusive videos for its users in the coming months.
