PM Modi’s visit to America came to an end with the speech at the UNSC. Foreign Secretary Shringla said the US and Portugal have supported India’s permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US has ended with his address to the United Nations General Assembly. Earlier, he had talks with US President Joe Biden on many issues. Along with this, PM Modi also participated in the meeting of Quad countries.
Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla described it as a successful visit. He said that the US and Portugal have supported India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council. Shringla said Biden said that India should get a permanent seat in the UN Security Council. Portugal also supported India for a permanent seat in the UN Security Council.
Regarding Prime Minister Modi’s visit to America, Shringla said that this US visit of PM Modi has been extensive and fruitful, in which high-level talks were held. He said unity is very relevant when it comes to Afghanistan. The Quad meeting proved to be very useful in putting together the goals of all the leaders in the wake of Afghanistan.
Shringla said that the Prime Minister spoke at the UNSC. He also talked about our contribution to the issue of maritime security. We presided over the Security Council, which was very successful. This is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister has shared a meeting at the UNSC. This is also the first time that India or any country has successfully taken forward the UNSC debate on maritime security.
