Britney Spears Criticizes Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake

Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera’s relationship has been marked by both highs and lows since their shared time as Mouseketeers on The Mickey Mouse Club in the mid-1990s, regrettably featuring more “lows” than “highs.”

In her recently released memoir, “The Woman in Me,” the “Toxic” singer openly criticized Aguilera for her choice to tour alongside Justin Timberlake on The Justified & Stripped Tour in 2003. Additionally, Spears expressed her disappointment with Aguilera and Timberlake’s joint appearance on the cover of Rolling Stone during that same period, just one year following Spears and Timberlake’s tumultuous breakup.

“In her new book,” Spears wrote, “They appeared together on the cover of Rolling Stone, with him wearing a black tank top and casting a seductive glance at her, while she gazed at the camera, clad in a lace-up black shirt.” Spears goes on to mention that in that same article, Aguilera expressed her belief that Justin and she should reconcile, a sentiment that was perplexing considering her previous negative comments elsewhere.

“Even if their intentions weren’t deliberately hurtful, it seemed as though they were exacerbating the pain. Why was it that people found it so effortless to overlook my humanity? I was vulnerable, and these headlines had the power to leave a lasting mark.”

According to The Daily Mail, in other parts of the memoir, Spears offered commendation to Aguilera, commending her for being “highly professional on TV” during her tenure on The Voice in 2016. Nonetheless, in “The Woman in Me,” the author did not make any reference to the “Genie in a Bottle” singer’s role in the 2003 VMA incident, where Spears and Madonna shared a kiss on stage, with Aguilera nearby.

According to The Mail’s report, Aguilera stated in an interview with Blender after the VMAs that Spears appeared “nervous throughout the entire event.” She went on to describe her as “a lost young girl, someone in need of guidance.” Naturally, Spears didn’t take kindly to this characterization and later expressed her sentiments to Blender, saying, “When someone has repeatedly been discourteous to you, it’s like, ‘You know what, Christina, I’m no longer interested in pretense.'”

When questioned last week about her expectations of being featured in the memoir, Aguilera responded to Jimmy Kimmel, “Dude, I don’t have a clue,” as reported by Billboard. Kimmel then inquired if she wished to be part of it, to which she replied, “I don’t know! I don’t know! Am I hoping? I mean, I’m hoping that, you know, everything is harmonious with her, and everything is wonderful. I believe the future should be a cause for celebration.”
