5th day of Chaitra Navratri dedicated to Devi Skand Mata, which is the fifth form of Navdurga. She is also known as the mother of Skand, Skand is the name of her son Lord Kartikeya.
Devi Skandamata rides on a tiger or lion as her mount. She is depicted with four hands, upper two hands of Devi Skandmata holds a lotus flower, lower right-hand carries six-faced baby kartikey, known as skand and other lower right hand poses abhaya mudra.
Devi Skandmata is also known as Devi padmasana. She seated in padmasan on the lotus flower. She is embrace with love and affection.
Devi Skand mata govern Buddha planet.
Devi Chandra Skand Mata rituals:
1 first of all you take bath wear neat and clean clothes. Try to wear red clothes on fifth day of navratri puja.
2 now deeply clean the temple or puja place.
3 offers red flowers, rice, rori, haldi, suppari, sandal paste,and coconut to Devi Skandamata.
4 red color flowers is most favorite flower of Devi Skand mata, you should offer red rose and hibiscus also known as gudhal and lotus flower to devi Skand mata.
5 Prasad of banana is offered to devi skand mata.
6 Chanted this mantra of Devi Skandamata
“Om devi Skandmatayai Namah”
“Simhasan gata nityam
Padmashrit kardvaya
Subhdatsu sada devi skanda mata yashashvini”
7 You can also read the holy book of Devi’s known as ‘Shatpsati Durga Paath’, if you are fasting for 9 days.
8 Now do aarti of goddess Durga and divides the Prasad to the small childrens.
