Meanwhile, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, the CEO of global drug manufacturer Pfizer, has said that the company is shipping $ 7 million of drugs to India from its distribution centers in the US, Europe, and Asia.
He said in a mail to the employees of Pfizer India, ‘We are deeply concerned about the current situation of Covid-19 in India, and are with you, your loved ones, and all the people of India at heart.’ He has posted this mail on LinkedIn. He also wrote, ‘We are committed to being a partner in India’s fight against this disease and are working fast for the greatest humanitarian relief in the history of our company.’
He said that currently Pfizer’s partners in distribution centers in the US, Europe, and Asia are trying to send these medicines to India at a fast pace. Burla said, “We are donating these medicines to ensure that every needy Kovid-19 patient can get Pfizer medicines in every public hospital of the country.”
He said, “These medicines worth more than 70 million USD will be made available immediately, and we will work together with the government and our NGO partners.”
